Tenants
Answering your frequently asked questions
Do you reference and credit check?
We require two professional references and three months worth of bank statements. In the event that we’re unsatisfied for whatever reason, we’ll require the tenants to have a guarantor.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
As a new tenant we will require the agreed deposit however, should we take on a property where you are an existing tenant we will not require a new deposit. Paying a deposit can safeguard you in the event of financial hardship such as many have experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are members of the Deposit Protection Scheme so you can rest assured that your money will be kept safe and secure.
What are the local amenities?
All of our properties are located within 15-minutes walk of local train stations, supermarkets, and town/city centres.
Can I use Universal Credit to pay the rent?
Yes. We accept Universal Credit however, the proof affordability checks we usually conduct will still be in place. You will need to prove your entitlement through official documentation as well as three months worth of bank statements showing the payments.
My job has finished earlier than I expected; can I leave my contract early?
In this situation we try to help as much as possible. We will begin to advertise the room upon your notice, aiming for it to be taken over for the day after you vacate. You will of course be liable for rent until the day that someone takes over, or the end date of your contract, whichever is soonest.
Is there a TV in the house?
We endeavour to have a common room in each of our properties, of which a TV will be present.
